studying techniques

10 minute list of things to do to get yourself one step closer to studying:
(Disclaimer: Not scientifically proven.)

1. Slack off for many days in a row, you’ll start to feel the impacts of it after that and be panicked to work.
2. Plan out a timetable and find out how much time you have. Or how little time you have. React accordingly.
3. Make copies of your exam schedule and stick it everywhere.
4. Hang out with people who are already panicking and already studying. Peer pressure can work wonders.
5. Put on some music that has motivational lyrics. Or classical music that has lots of energy.
6. Sort out all your worksheets and notes if you haven’t. Studying is close to impossible without organized notes. (Not that mine are ever organized?!)
7. Take out your notes and place them on your table as a reminder to start. It can double up as a foil when you need to quickly turn away from your computer and pretend you’re at work when your mom walks in.
8. Wait for a day where you feel awake and great and the weather is cool and comfortable enough to work in. Alternatively, find a nice place that suits your studying habits. Home may not be everyone’s first choice of a study corner.
9. Get a snack first.
10. Convince yourself you need to study. Approach it with a positive mindset, and keep calm and open. Make it as exciting as possible for yourself. Reward yourself with breaks after achieving short term goals. Read aloud in weird voices. Walk around the house. Fit the points into a song. Write it out in a nice pretty way. Create mnemonics. Talk to people about it. Record yourself and listen to it.
