thank God for birthdays
Thank God.
Thank God for the rain,
It really spared us the strain.
Thank God for cake,
And the people who bake.
Thank God for today,
You really paved the way.
Thank God for friends,
Too bad today had to end.

It was purely magical, because I knew God had it all planned out. Last night, I prayed to Him. I had wanted to pray “Let it rain, please.” But what if it rained only in the morning, and then we would have to run in the mud? So instead, I just prayed “Lord, do whatever. Whether it rains or shines, I know You know best.” In the end, it indeed only rained in the morning, but the run was postponed indefinitely nonetheless. That rush of happiness was inexplicable. It was as if God specially let it be this way so I didn’t have to run today. THANK YOU LORD.
And because the run was cancelled, my day was suddenly free. I had my 24 hours to maximize! Not wasted by those 3 hours at MCR! And it meant that I didn’t have to go out late with the dear niners, which meant I could meet Yvonneee too! It totally solved my dilemma, as I was really feeling kinda worried that if I went out with you niners, it would be too late to meet Yvonne already, and I really wanted to meet her because it’s been like AGES.
So eventually I had the best of both worlds, and had a (two? Or if you count ALL the mudpies, 4?) surprise cake(s) from both my ex classmates as well as Y. Now I seriously have a chocolate overdose.
And the most surprising thing was, my mom and brother actually both gave me a present each! Usually my mom would just give me a red packet. It doesn’t matter what they gave me, but it’s the thought that counts, and I would definitely treasure the things from them.
THANK YOU EVERYBODY.
