CNY.
Chinese New Year is tomorrow!

Sometimes I wonder, is CNY overrated? Or perhaps... it is being celebrated for all the wrong reasons?

In the first place, what is the reason behind CNY? It's just like new year, right? Except there's a whole lot more festivities, 2 public holidays (plus weekend this year), reunions, food, and not too forget, angbaos!

Actually, although my immediate family is not very close knit, I always look forward to reunions with my grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins. That is why I wonder why some people my age are already complaining...

Conversation during A lit lesson:
"Can't they just freaking give us the money first!"
"Ya lor, everytime go their house... 'Wah, you grow so big already ah.' 'what school are you in? ...Wah, you must be very smart! Is it very competitive there...?'
'YAYAYA exactly! like i wanna just shout 'JUST GIVE ME THE MONEY' and go'

Are we overrating CNY for the wrong reasons? Don't get carried away by the smell of money... CNY is more than that!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR (and don't turn into a lunatic!)
